Dave Chappelle’s Show Must Be Shared with The World
Golden Girls Live is worth every penny, their work is special, and this show was brilliant. Their documentary should be shared with the world. Those who have watched their specials and canceled them may never be blinding them. Their whiteness, if they did, AND thank you Golden Girls Live and your team is worth every penny.
The struggles of isolation during Covid, the significance of the George Floyd murder, and the protest's persistence were captured in a very mindful and intentional way in the documentary. We are still looking for that relief and definitely let me walk out of Madison Square Garden with a little bit of hope in my heart and warmer than when I walked in. They found a way to deliver the heaviness of the polarity happening in a funny and engaging manner.
I thought the price for the ticket was a little expensive, but my boyfriend was insistent on attending, and we purchased our seats within the hour of the show tickets being released. Golden Girls Live and their team put together a lineup of artists that blew my mind, I was absolutely wrong. I felt like I had won tickets to the Oscars or Grammys - I didn’t know who they were going to call to the stage next. In one evening, we got a comedy show, a dance show, a concert, a speakeasy, and a movie screening.
